Penobscot Theatre Company's Dramatic Academy has two offerings to end their summer program, Junie B. Jones is Not a Crook by Allison Gregory and William Shakespeare's As You Like It, August 16-19. Junie B Jones is Not a Crook will perform at 5:00PM August 16-18 and at 12:00PM August 19, and As You Like It will perform at 7:00PM August 16-18 and at 3:00PM on August 19. All performances will be at the Bangor Opera House, 131 Main Street, Bangor.

Junie B Jones is Not a Crook brings Barbara Park's original stories to life on stage, drawing material from many of the books in the series. The play follows Junie B. Jones on the hunt to recover her brand new black furry gloves that have gone missing. She's convinced there's a crook on the loose, and will stop at nothing to find them. She needs them to compete for the attention of Handsome Warren, the new boy in town who has the interest of Junie B. and her best friends Grace and Lucille. Directed by Alekzander Sayers and Assistant Directed by Zivi Osher. The cast includes Kallyn Brown, Katherine Caron, Brooklyn Chute, Iris Danforth, Lydia Exley, Beatrix Foster, Amara Francis, Ronan Griffin, Emery Higgins, Iris Howland, Joshua Howland, Lily Jenkins, Rozlyn Johanson, Elliana Labree, Maisie McCarthy, Macie Mitchell-Qualey, Rachel Oh, Paige Olmstead, Jett Reesman, Georgiana Stephenson, Kelly Tian, Mckenley Towle, Sage Wheeler, and Jade Wolf.

As You Like It brings one of Shakespeare's classics to the stage. Audiences will follow heroines Rosalind and Celia through their adventures in banishment, friendship, and love at first sight. Set in the "Summer of Love" 1967, As You Like It is a delightful comedy featuring zany characters, mistaken identity, dance numbers and modern music as well as a puppet chicken or two. Come join us for Shakespeare's most performed comedy! Directed by Ben Layman and Assistant Directed by Eric Byers. The cast includes Tessa Baker, Rochelle "Rocki" Ballato, Morgan Braley, Drew Campbell, Atticus Foster, Mya Frost, Josie Gilmore, Joseph Griffin, Zaria Hobbs, Riley Howe-Grenier, Ella Jellison, Dellana Kellser, Miranda Larson, Sage Neptune, Noam Osher, Rachel Palmer, Inanna Piccininni, Nicholas Rhodes, Hanna Shaafi, Sophia Schroepfer, Lilie Sites, Hannah Torrey, and Declan Walshe Nine tech track students have helped design, build, and run both shows. They are Elizabeth Bates, Lauran Bilancia, Jackson Breedlove, Leo Caron, Gracie Demchak, Rebekah Friedman, Abigail MacDonald, Molly McDougal, and Robin Runnells. They were essential to the design team of Tricia Hobbs (Scenic), Isaac Anderson (Lighting), Liv Rigdon (Costumes), and Katie Guzzi (Sound) and Alivia Cross (Stage Management).
