Schoolhouse Arts Center Kids! To Present Getting To Know: ONCE UPON A MATTRESS The Schoolhouse Arts Center is proud to announce its cast for the Spring 2018 Schoolhouse Kids production of "Getting to know: Once Upon A Mattress". This show is directed by Danny Gay with musical direction by Betty McIntyre. The play is licensed through R & H Theatricals, and is based upon the classic story of 'The Princess and the Pea.'

If you thought you knew the story of The Princess and The Pea, you may be in for a walloping surprise! Did you know, for instance, that Princess Winnifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that it may not have been the pea at all that caused the princess a sleepless night? Carried on a wave of beguiling songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship and comeuppance provides for great fun.

Performances of "Getting to know: Once Upon A Mattress" are on May 18th through the 20th. On Fridays and Saturdays the curtain time is 7:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday matinees start at 2 p.m. The Schoolhouse Arts Center is located at 16 Richville Rd, Standish, ME 04084. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, or $5 for under 5 years old. Visit www.schoolhousearts.org for information on purchasing tickets, for directions, or to learn more about the theater.
