Forward Theater Presents LIFE SUCKS.

Forward Theater Company will conclude the celebration of their 10th anniversary season with the Wisconsin premiere of Life Sucks., written by Madison-born playwright Aaron Posner. This lively and freewheeling play will be presented in the Playhouse at Overture Center, March 28 - April 14, 2019.

In this bold and funny reworking of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, a group of old friends, ex- lovers, estranged in-laws, and lifelong enemies lurches between love and lust, laughter and longing, and the many ways in which life does, and doesn't...suck. Both brash and warm-hearted, Aaron Posner's romp of a play reminds its seven hapless characters-and its audience-that to feel deeply is the price of a life well-lived.

"Life Sucks is one of the best contemporary adaptations I've worked on," said Director Jen Uphoff Gray. "Aaron Posner has enhanced Chekhov's work in such a wonderful way - he's created something that stays true to the original yet exists as something that all audiences can connect with and enjoy. It's universal, it's profound, and it's and delightfully funny."

The production features Advisory Company members William Bolz and Sarah Day, Elyse Edelman, Marcella Kearns, Reese Madigan, Brian Mani, and Advisory Company member Rana Roman. Directed by Jen Uphoff Gray. Scenic Design by Mike Lawler, Lighting Design by Noelle Stollmack, Costume Design by Ren LaDassor, Sound Designer and Composer is Joe Cerqua, Props Design by Pam Miles. Stage Manager is Sarah Deming-Henes.

Tickets are now on sale. They may be purchased online at forwardtheater.com, in person at Overture Center's ticket office, or by calling (608) 258-4141.
