Review: FOREVER PLAID at The Palace Teater It's Saturday afternoon; a couple of drinks and a decent night's rest have transpired since I saw Forever Plaid at The Palace Theater, and I still can't get Sh-boom Sh-boom out of my head.

The evening began with a fantastic meal which included a table visit from Chef Guy! Soon after which, the lights were dimmed, and the show was announced to the four amazing actors entering from the audience carrying candles. Already I had chills!

From the introduction to the final bows, I was captivated by these four talented men. On their way to their first big gig, the "Plaids" were broadsided by a bus and killed instantly. The four; Sparky, (The Amazing Scott Duell) Smudge, (The Incomparable Rory Dunn) Jinx (The Remarkable Sean Widener) and Frankie (The Extraordinary Bryan Dougherty) are brought back for one chance to do their show, and what a show it is!

The chemistry between the actors is palpable and the harmonies are hair raising good! Through their quips and quirks, we get to know the quartet, and from asthma to nose bleeds it looks like they have quite a long haul in front of them. As they get over their collective case of nervousness in act one, the audience is treated (and I do mean treated!) to some fantastically performed old school doowop! Each of the "Plaids" hold their own in vocals, and choreography, even while eliciting audience participation.

While I certainly don't want to spoil any of the whimsical surprises in store for you, I simply must mention that the Ed Sullivan tribute is an exercise in fun frantic fanfare! The entire show from beginning to end is engaging and enjoyable on so very many levels.

Please, doowop yourself a favor and start the new year out right, get to The Palace Theater and see this show, in fact, look for me because I gotta see it again!

Including the memorable standards "Heart and Soul" "Lady of Spain" and "Love Is Many Splendored Thing", this show is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a song in your heart!
