2019 Molloy College Golf Classic Event Proceeds To Benefit Student Scholarships

The annual Molloy College Golf Classic will take place on Monday May 13, 2019, at both The Seawane Golf and Country Club in Hewlett, NY, and The Rockaway Hunting Club, in Cedarhurst, NY. The event benefits Molloy College student scholarships.

The event honorees are:

Corporate Honoree: Mike Ryan, President of The Landtek Group, Inc.

Alumni Honoree: Teresa A. White '84, Partner at Pinks, Lipshie, White and Nemeth

Emerging Leader Honoree: Craig Gendjoian '15, Morgan Stanley

The event co-chairs for are Robert S. Salvatico, President and Chief Operating Officer, Jaral Properties, Inc., and Josephine Bottitta, J.D., MSW, Senior Vice President, Business Risk Specialist, OneGroup.

"I am proud to support Molloy College's work to provide scholarship money to Long Island students & families," said honoree Mike Ryan. "I recognize the regional importance of Molloy's well-planned growth, and I am happy to be part of the Molloy family. LandTek and Molloy College share a mission to make life on our island better today and in the future."

In 1979, Mike Ryan founded The LandTek Group. He anticipated the need for improvement of products used in the athletic field industry and recognized that new turf designs were safer for athletes, cost effective for school districts and municipalities, and easy to maintain. Mr. Ryan currently provides organizations and communities with better and safer facilities. To date, he has overseen the construction of more than half a billion dollars' worth of sports facilities, built several golf courses, and acted as a site developer for multiple projects. He has been the keynote speaker at seminars focused on athletic field development, synthetic turf, under-field drainage and quality control. Mr. Ryan's proficiency, capability and motivation have driven The LandTek Group to become to the top builder of sports fields in the United States. He has been named The Marty Lyons Foundation Man of the Year, the Suffolk County P.A.L. Man of the Year and the St. Joseph's College Man of the Year. He is an active member of these and numerous other nonprofit organizations, which are dedicated to supporting children and their families living under difficult circumstances.

While at Molloy, Teresa A. White '84, majored in French and Political Science and was active on campus in clubs and student government. She graduated cum laude from Molloy in 1984, and went on to attend Hofstra University School of Law from where she earned her juris doctor degree in 1987. Ms. White passed the New York State Bar examination, and was admitted to practice in 1988. In 2016 she become a partner in the firm of Pinks, Lipshie, White, & Nemeth, Esqs., which focuses on commercial matters, complex litigation and transactions, construction, banking, real estate property and municipal law cases in all New York State courts and Federal District and Bankruptcy Courts in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. she is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Suffolk County Bar Association, and Columbian Lawyers of Suffolk County. She resides in West Islip, teaches tai chi and qigong at the Long Island Center for Yoga and is in initial formation in the Holy Poverty Fraternity of the Ordo Franciscanus Saecularis (Secular Franciscan Order), Bay Shore, New York.

Craig Gendjoian '15, is a Financial Advisor, who started his career with The North Shore Group at Morgan Stanley in early 2013. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of New York, Mr. Gendjoian brings a unique perspective to the financial planning process and leverages his analytical skills when constructing client portfolios. Before joining Morgan Stanley, he was a Financial Services Consultant for "Big 4" Accounting firm Ernst & Young. He holds an active CPA license, obtained his Master's degree in Taxation from Hofstra University and earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Molloy. Outside of the office, he can often be found playing in organized volleyball and flag football leagues across Long Island.

"The Molloy community's reach extends far beyond our campus," said Molloy College President Drew Bogner, Ph.D. "Our friends and alumni are important ambassadors for our mission and our message. It is a privilege to honor these three individuals for their unyielding support of the College. The annual golf classic continues to benefit student scholarships and assists Molloy in transforming even more lives and communities."

The May 13th event will begin at 9:30 a.m. with breakfast, the driving ranges will be available at 10:00 a.m. play will begin with a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m. at Rockaway and 11:30 a.m. at Seawane. The day will conclude with a buffet dinner reception at Seawane.
