In its short history Dorrance Dance has performed at some of the premier performing arts venues and festivals across the country, including The Kennedy Center, the Lincoln Center Out of Doors and Vail International Dance Festival. Additionally, the company has toured internationally to rave reviews, in countries like Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Hong Kong and more.

For its inaugural performance, Dorrance Dance received a prestigious Bessie Award - also known as the New York Dance and Performance Awards - for exceptional achievement and "blasting open our notions of tap."

Using original tap "instruments" designed by 2014 Bessie Award Winner Nicholas Van Young, the score is not simply danced to, but danced BY the company. With the right programming, the sound of a single footfall can range from a snare drum to a note on an arpeggio.
