Pandora Productions Invites You to Come To The CABARET! "Life is a CABARET..." at Pandora Productions this September as we open the 2018-2019 season.

Based on stories by Christopher Isherwood which became the play I Am a Camera by John Van Druten, CABARET has a book by Joe Masteroff, with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. This exciting score, played by a live onstage band, comes to life with such memorable tunes as Don't Tell Mama, Two Ladies, Tomorrow Belongs to Me, The Pineapple Song and of course the title song: Cabaret. As the Third Reich is on the rise, the classic Kit Kat Klub in decadent 1934 Berlin is home to the story of Cliff and Sally, Herr Schultz and Fraulein Schneider and the iconic and mercurial Emcee, your host and manipulator of events.

On a train to Berlin, the mysterious but friendly Ernst meets Cliff, an American author working on a novel. Cliff then encounters Sally at the seedy Kit Kat Klub where she sings. When she is fired by her jealous boyfriend and club's owner, she moves in with Cliff and they fall in love. Needing money to pay their rent, Cliff, unconcerned about even knowing Ernst's politics, begins covert work for him. Fraulein Schneider, a German boarding house owner and Herr Schultz, an elderly Jewish fruit vendor have struck up their own relationship. Overseeing the action is the Emcee. As the Nazis begin taking control of the government, the atmosphere of the Kit Kat Klub and the lives of our couples begin to change dramatically.

CABARET is sponsored by Mawood Mercier Group and is directed by the company's Artistic Director, Michael J. Drury, with Musical Direction by Alex Roby and Choreography by Maggie Patten. The principle cast includes: Jack Wallen, Lauren McCombs, Jordan Price, Georgette Kleier, Jim Hesselman, Amanda Kyle Lahti and Patrick Vaughn.
