The John W. Engeman Theater Announces 2019-2020 Youth Season; FROZEN, JR., CINDERELLA, and More

The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport announces its 2019-2020 Youth Theater Season.

The season starts with a twist on the classic fairy tale, RAPUNZEL. Forced to live alone in a tower with nothing but her hair and her witch (literally) of a mother, Rapunzel longs to finally see the outside world. With the help of a young prince named Brian, she sings and dances her way through hilarious obstacles on her way to freedom. July 27 - August 25, 2019.

Next up, the beloved musical THE WIZARD OF OZ, based on the MGM film and story by L. Frank Baum. Join The Scarecrow, The Tinman, The Cowardly Lion, Dorothy... and Toto too, as they journey through the magical land of Oz to meet the Wizard and obtain their hearts' desires. September 21 - October 27, 2019.

Celebrate the holiday season with the return of FROSTY! Join Jenny and Frosty on their chilly adventures as they try to save the town of Chillsville from the mean old Ethel Pierpot and her evil machine that will melt all the snow. Jenny calls on her Mom, the mayor, and all of you to help her save her home, get Frosty to the North Pole, and make this holiday season a Winter Wonderland for one and all! November 23 - December 29, 2019.

The season continues in the new year with DISNEY'S FROZEN JR.! When faced with danger, princesses Anna and Elsa discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. This enchanting musical features all of the memorable songs from the hit Disney film and will thaw even the coldest heart! January 25 - March 1, 2020.

Next, the classic fairy tale CINDERELLA. Poor Cinderella is endlessly taunted by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters and not allowed to attend the Royal Ball. With the help from her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella goes to the ball, meets the Prince, falls in love and lives happily ever after. March 28 - May 3, 2020.

The season ends with everyone's favorite mischievous monkey in CURIOUS GEORGE: THE GOLDEN MEATBALL. With every swing and flip, the inquisitive monkey takes the audience through a fun-filled adventure, in which he learns more about Rome... and meatballs... and the secret ingredient to cooking! George and his friend in the yellow hat sing and dance up a storm in this musical that will leave you singing and swinging down the aisles! May 23 - June 28, 2020.
