Review: KITCHEN WITCHES at Rialto Community Arts Center The Rialto Community Art Center performs a charming rendition of Caroline Smith's Kitchen Witches Thursday through Sunday, March 21 through 24. This is the funniest cooking show you will see on stage. Touted as a cross between Martha Stewart and Jerry Springer, this play touches base with infidelity and friendship.

Isobel Lomax, played by Jenny Lyn, and Dolly Biddle, played by Casey Myers, are ex-friends who enjoy a love of cooking and of a man from long ago. As Dolly Biddle says goodbye to what she thinks is her last cooking show, Isobel Lomax barges in on the television show to threaten Dolly for talking bad about her on tv. The television station owner likes the last show so much that he tells the girls to start a new cooking show. Produced by Dolly's son Stephen, played by Jesse Burgener, he convinces the girls to do the show, only to hear startling news from Isobel that will change Stephen's life forever.

Myers comedic timing is perfect as the loveable Dolly who enjoys using accents throughout her shows. Lyn is a fabulous serious contrast that tries to bring a more professional approach to the shows, but ends up making them even more outrageous. Burgener brings a quiet, confident control to a somewhat meek character whose world is turned upside down.

This show is funny from start to finish. I wouldn't say it was necessarily for the younger audience due to the more sensitive subjects that are discussed, but it isn't vulgar, so bring them if you want.
