THE MISUNDERSTANDING Comes To New National Theatre Tokyo Next Month The play THE MISUNDERSTANDING is heading to The New National Theatre Tokyo, running from Oct. 4 to Oct. 21.

Opening OGAWA Eriko's first season as Artistic Director of Drama is a performance of "The Misunderstanding" by the 20th century French playwright and author Albert Camus. While works by CAMUS have been performed quite often in Japan, "The Misunderstanding" in particular is the most familiar work, having been performed many times over since its first performance in 1951 by Bungakuza. This is the first time CAMUS' work will be performed at the New National Theatre. It will be directed by the up-and-coming INABA Kae, who has gained acclaim in her recent works at Bungakuza Theatre Company for her detailed and scrupulous staging of Michel AZAMA's "Crusades" and Ibsen's "The Wild Duck".
