Review: JUST DANCE by Irad Avni

When you enter the theatre and pay for your tickets you interact for the first time with the character of "JUST DANCE" by Irad Avni. the 2 characters greet the audience and have a small talk with them while they pay for the tickets. the actual show (I guess) is starting with a boy that organize the room for something between 90s workout in front of a video and a 3rd-grade party. The use of the audience is funny but I felt like it was too long, it could be funnier if it was shorter. After this part that boy is no longer a part of the plot, just playing the music at the right time. maybe if the part of the other boy was starting while the audience finishes entering and take their sits, it could be less tiring.

When the actual show starts, two characters (played by Irad Avni and Roni Mor Halachmi) that look like 90s video workout tape are jumping on the stage. Their chemistry is very noticeable and they are super energetic. They dance in a perfect coordination between them and very good and not just for their young age. The show combining hilarious jokes and smart texts with great moves.

They take you out of your comfort zone, they share the dancing with the audience as they ask for the audience to stand and dance with them, and I was a "victim" of a dance lesson by them in the middle of the show in front of everybody, which was embarrassing at the beginning but felt great afterwards. They give the audience an opportunity to connect with each other rather they knew before or not. For me, dancing is very embarrassing and personal but they created such a great small open space that I couldn't avoid join the dance.

The chirography by Irad Avni is modern, interesting and go along with the text. The texts are moving from funny to deep and thoughtful. The end part was amazing but the actual end wasn't strong enough and I didn't understand if the show really end. "JUST DANCE" is a pure fun and great entertainment. If you don't just sing in the shower but also sin in the dancing you should step out of your comfort zone and go enjoy "JUST DANCE".
