Martin McDonagh's THE LONESOME WEST Opens At The Everyman This Week

The Lonesome West, the blackest of black comedy by Martin McDonagh is the third play in his seminal work The Leenane Trilogy. The Everyman continues its tradition of producing top-quality theatre with McDonagh's hit comedy, directed by Julie Kelleher, opening this week and running until Saturday, 25th August.

The Lonesome West is a comic masterpiece. McDonagh's much loved characters, Colman and Valene, two brothers living alone in their father's house after his recent death, find it impossible to exist without regular violent disputes over mundane matters. Only the local priest, Father Welsh, is prepared to reconcile the two before their squabbling leads to violent and bloody carnage.

Martin McDonagh is a multi-award-winning writer and director whose plays include, The Beauty Queen of Leenane; A Skull in Connemara; The Lieutenant of Inishmore; The Cripple of Inishmaan; A Behanding in Spokane and the upcoming A VERY VERY VERY DARK MATTER.?As a Writer and Director for film his credits include the Golden Globe winning Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri; Seven Psychopaths; In Bruges and the Oscar winning short, Six Shooter.

Tickets for The Lonesome West are available online from everymancork.com and from The Everyman box office which is open Monday to Saturday from 12.00pm to 7.30pm and 4.00pm to 7.30pm on Sundays. Regular tickets are €29 unless you purchase them for the opening week, for which they are on offer of €24. Students can avail of the fantastic concessions from The Everyman for €9 entry to all of the productions throughout the month of August.
