Evelyn Grant has created a new live multi media concert for primary and post primary schools with the Cork Pops Orchestra 'A World of Rhythm', in City Hall Cork November 6th, 7th and 8th at University Concert Hall, Limerick November 9th.

She is joining forces with award winning producer, composer, DJ and instrumentalist DJ Dashka and singer Phoebe Dipple and Chris Hurley, Cork Film Centre, to create a show which will introduce a younger audience to the joy of a live music performance with the use of digital technology.

Dance music producer DJ Dashka adds a new twist to his very popular music production demonstration, playing saxophone on his own tracks and on some recent pop hits.

Dashka is an award winning Irish Producer, Composer, DJ & Instrumentalist. He has releases signed to the biggest global record labels (Size Records, Spinnin' Records, and Zulu Records amongst others) and his music has garnered support from DJs as varied as Oliver Heldens, Steve Angello, Alesso, Bob Sinclar, Fedde Le Grande, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Futuristic Polar Bears, Judge Jules, AN21 & Max Vangeli, Funkagenda & John Dahlback.

His unique DJ performances set him apart by creating a musical journey which also incorporating live Sax improvisations, earning him centre stage slots alongside Deadmau5, Sander van Doorn, Sebastien Ingrosso, Marco V, Eddie Halliwell and Judge Jules.

He also presents a weekly 3 hour specialist radio show on Spin Southwest called 'Mainroom'.

Phoebe Dipple is a vocalist, actor and musical theatre performer, currently a student at the CIT Cork School of Music she has performed in Ireland's lagest venues, the 3 Arena, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Cork Opera House and City Hall, Cork. She has also performed in Symphony Space (New York), The John Hancock Theater (Boston), and The Theatre Royal, Brighton. She has been trained in musical theatre and classical singing and she also enjoys singing jazz, soul, blues and funk.

She sang with Evelyn Grant and the Cork Pops Orchestra on 'Culture Night' in City Hall, Cork.

Evelyn Grant enjoys a busy career in music as a performer, educator, broadcaster, and adjudicator. A member of a well-known musical family from Dublin, she studied the flute in Germany before returning to Ireland to teach at the Cork School of Music (1980 - 2009). Her radio career began on RTÉ Cork Local Radio and she has been a regular voice on RTÉ lyric fm since its inception. She currently presents Evelyn Grant's weekend Drive every Saturday and Sunday from 4pm. Her recent documentary, 'Digitising Rita', celebrating the life of Cork soprano, Rita Lynch, reached the finals of the 2016 New York Radio Awards. Evelyn was awarded a PhD, in 2006, for her research on Social Inclusion in Music Education. She serves on the board of West Cork Music. As musical director of the Cork Pops Orchestra, she performs to thousands of young people each year, and leads an extensive outreach programme around Ireland with the RTE lyric fm quartet. She is probably unique amongst women, in Ireland being the principal conductor of the Cork Pops Orchestra for twenty eight years.

These concerts are presented in association with CIT, Cork City Council and RTÉ lyric fm.

The programme is curriculum-based. The concert focuses on active and attentive listening, encourages audience participation, and is a multi-media experience. Classroom resources are provided to participating schools. www.corkpops.ie
