Casting Society Of America Announces Town Hall On The Topic Of Ageism

The Casting Society of America has announced town hall for senior actors on June 10 in New York City as part of its "Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion in Casting Initiative."

The event will tackle the issue of agesim in the casting industry.

Panelists will include actors Patricia Bowie, Guy Whitlock and Lynn Cohen, talent agent Judy Boals, and casting directors Judy Henderson and David Caparelliotis.

According to the CSA, the event will serve to give actors and casting directors an opportunity to "better understand the practical issues they encounter in their respective professions; to share goals and aspirations, and to discuss how CSA might better and more consistently work to increase audition opportunities and advocate for senior actors."

The event is part of a series of conversations and workshops designed to better serve actors from marginalized communities throughout the industry.

It will be held at the Actors' Equity Building in Manhattan, and will be followed by a series of free workshops, which will provide reel footage to participating actors. The event will also stream live on Facebook.
