BRADY BUNCH Musical to Receive Staged Reading

A Very Brady Musical, a new musical based on the iconic television show The Brady Bunch, will receive a New York City staged reading under the direction of Richard Israel - the multiple Ovation Award winner for his legendary work in Los Angeles theatre. Israel's also helming the NY-developed Jeff Marx/Fat Mike musical, Home Street Home, set to open in London this spring.

Lloyd J. Schwartz, one of the TV show's original producers, and Hope Juber have written the book - a clever blend of nostalgia and satire, with all of the characters played by adults. Schwartz and Juber are the writers behind the more recent Brady movies for television. Music & Lyrics are by Hope Juber & Grammy Award winner Laurence Juber (Paul McCartney and Wings). Ted Arthur (The Prom, Once On This Island, Dear Evan Hanson) is Music Director.

The musical is being produced by Kate Atkinson of K-Squared Entertainment and developed by K-Squared Entertainment and Juber Productions. K-Squared is the team behind Part of the Plan, the Dan Fogelberg musical that had its world premiere at the Tennessee Performing Center and is slated to continue development at a soon-to-be announced Regional theater in the 2019/20 season.

The 29-hour reading will take place February 15 at Pearl Studios.
