BWW Previews: The Mature, Star-Studded Romance of BUNGA TERAKHIR BADAI DAN KASIH at CIPUTRA ARTPRENEUR

Perempuan Untuk Negeri (Women for the Country) alongside Geronime Production will open the musical BUNGA TERAKHIR BADAI DAN KASIH (Badai and Kasih's Last Flower) at Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta, on October 20th and 21st 2018. This production is part of a string of romance-themed stage musicals which include BADAI KASIH (February 2013) and PRAHARA CINTA BADAI KASIH (November 2013).

The BADAI KASIH series follows the story of Badai and Kasih as they find love in the middle of nowhere and then develop their relationship. Badai is a globetrotter who pursues new destinations and experiences; while Kasih is an introverted bookworm who opens her own library.

Part of the story was inspired by the love life between legendary Indonesian actor Sophan Sophiaan and his wife Widyawati, the latter of whom has been involved with BADAI KASIH since its first installment.

This time, the role of Badai will be played by Miller Khan, a Malaysian actor whose prolific acting career in Indonesia include dozens of films and TV soap operas. Khan inherits the mantle of Badai from Marcell Siahaan, who played the titular role in BADAI KASIH and PRAHARA CINTA BADAI KASIH. Meanwhile, Yanti Airlangga will resume her role as Kasih.

Other cast members include Widyawati Sophiaan, Niniek L. Karim, Marini Soerjosoemarno, Tike Priatna, dan Aida Nurmala. The script is penned by Titien Wattimena, who was also the writer for the previous installments. Local musician Ari Tulang assumes the role of choreographer; the award-winning director Sidi Saleh (Maryam) is directing the play. The show will also include a special performance by Beby Romeo.

All proceeds from the ticket sales will go towards the relief efforts of Lombok, Palu, and Donggala. The island of Lombok was hit by an earthquake last August, while Palu and Donggala were two towns hit the hardest by the earthquake and tsunami in September.

Perempuan Untuk Negeri (PUN) is a foundation promoting both social welfare and the arts. Founded in 2009 by Yanti Airlangga, PUN past beneficiaries include the victims of 2009's Padang earthquake.

Ticket sales is available via Loket.com.
