One of the nation's oldest symphonic choruses, the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir announces tickets are on sale now for all upcoming concerts as part of the 2018-2019 season. Covering everything from annual family favorites to timeless musical masterpieces, the 82nd anniversary season's diverse lineup reflects the Choir's celebration of the choral classics and a commitment to the future of choral music.

Tickets and show information are available online at indychoir.org, or by calling the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir at (317) 940-9057.

Featuring some of the most critically acclaimed compositions from musical greats, including Joseph Haydn's The Creation which opens the season in October, the 2018-19 season will continue to pay tribute to the work of iconic composers of both past and present. The season will also bring the Choir to a new venue, Warren Performing Arts Center at Warren Central High School, for a portion of the annual Festival of Carols performances featuring east-side Indianapolis native Michele McConnell who recently completed eight years of performances as Carlotta in Andrew Lloyd Weber's Phantom of the Opera on Broadway in New York. Artistic Director Eric Stark will also return as the guest conductor for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's annual Handel's Messiah performances.

"Our 82nd season is filled with exciting events and something for everyone," said Indianapolis Symphonic Choir Assistant Artistic Director Michael Davis. "From bringing our Festival of Carols to Warren Performing Arts Center and welcoming Indianapolis native Michele McConnell back to her hometown stage following eight years on Broadway, to our collaboration with Dance Kaleidoscope at The Palladium in Carmel, hearing Haydn's The Creation with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, and Handel's Messiah with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, this will be a season filled with excellent music, beautiful venues, and incredible artists."

The Indianapolis Symphonic Choir is honored to be one of the nation's established and dynamic musical institutions, marking its 82nd season in 2018/2019. Among the most active symphonic choruses in the United States, the Choir reaches in excess of 25,000 people each season with more than 25 performances and a comprehensive educational outreach program. The 200 volunteer singers demonstrate the Choir's commitment to musical excellence through their talent and dedication during each 42-week season. The choral partner of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Symphonic Choir was founded in 1937 at the ISO's request to perform the great choral-orchestral repertoire. This continued partnership exhibits the very best of collaborative ideals - two independent arts organizations combining their strengths to create beautifully lasting musical results. Following the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir's acclaimed performance at Carnegie Hall during the 2016-17 season, the group traveled to Washington D.C.'s Kennedy Center as a guest of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra during the SHIFT festival in April 2018. The Choir is dedicated to excellence in the performance of choral music, the creation of new choral masterworks, and to community outreach and education throughout the community. The Choir is now in its 11th year as the official choral partner of the Indianapolis Public Schools, providing teacher training, educational resources, performance experiences and free printed music.
