Fans of the musicals Cabaret, Chicago and Kiss of the Spider Woman will enjoy the musical The World Goes 'Round at TheatreZone in Naples on April 25 through May 5. The show is a stunning review from the songbook of the multiple Tony Award-winning team of composer John Kander and lyricist Fred Ebb, who wrote these musicals and many others. The duo also scored several movies, including New York, New York, and wrote songs for Liza Minnelli and Chita Rivera. And the World Goes 'Round won Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical and Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical Revue.

"This upbeat show is filled with humor, romance, drama and lots of dancing," said TheatreZone Founding Artistic Director Mark Danni. "It's a thrilling celebration of life and the fighting spirit that keeps us all going."

In the story, five individuals find themselves careening through the world of love, babies and coffee. The nonstop hit parade features unforgettable gems, including "Mr. Cellophane," "Maybe This Time," "All That Jazz" and "How Lucky Can You Get," seamlessly interwoven into a passionate, harmonious, up-tempo performance of musical theatre.

The cast includes Charles Logan, recently seen at TheatreZone in the title role of George M. Cohan in George M! and as Bill in Me & My Girl and who has performed at Radio City Music Hall in the Christmas Spectacular; Carolann Sanita VanderMeer, who toured as Marian in the first national tour of The Music Man and internationally as Maria in the European and Asian tours of West Side Story; Kayley Stevens, who was principal/dance captain on Holland America Cruise Line and appeared at TheatreZone last season in Copacabana and Me & My Girl; Patrick Sullivan, whose Broadway credits include Julian in 42nd Street, Gaston in Beauty and the Beast and various roles in Titanic; and singer, actor, improv artist, and cabarista Laura Hodos, who was the first performer to create a solo cabaret show for Walt Disney World as a part of the Disney Event Group and Disney Institute.

The cast will also perform "out of character" at TheatreZone's Broadway & Happy Hour afternoon cabaret series from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 at Moorings Park auditorium, 120 Moorings Park Drive. They will sing their favorite tunes, including songs they audition with. The cabaret starts with complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m.

Show tickets range from $50 to $75, while Broadway & Happy Hour tickets are $35. They may be purchased at www.theatre.zone or by calling the box office at 888-966-3352 x1. TheatreZone is in residence at the 250-seat G&L Theatre on the Community School of Naples campus, 13275 Livingston Road, Naples.
