Review: SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER at Broadway Palm Has Audiences Disco Dancing!

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre brings classic disco flair to the Southwest Florida stage through many fun, well-known songs, lots of dancing, and fittingly flashy costumes.

Michael Notardonato played Tony, and he thoroughly showcased Tony's sometimes slightly cocky, but also very vulnerable personality. From his vibrant characterization of Tony to his incredible vocals and dance moves, it was absolute fun to see him lead this show.

Stephanie was played by Collier Cobb, and I really enjoyed seeing her reluctantly fall for Tony. They made a wonderful duo onstage, and their dancing together was a bit of fun theatre magic, especially their final dance at the 2001 Odyssey ("More Than A Woman").

Chasdan Ross Mike played Monty and Shelby Acosta played Candy, and together they led several of the musical numbers with the ensemble, including "Night Fever" and "Disco Inferno." They were an incredibly strong duo and truly shone vocally in each song.

Though SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER is primarily based around a dance competition, there are many layers to the show's storyline. I appreciated seeing the complicated relationship between Tony and Annette (Jennie Nasser), and Bobby C's (Matthew Oster) struggle with his feelings for Pauline (Lexie Wolfe). There was a lot of depth to the SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER story, and watching it all play out on the Broadway Palm stage was very captivating.

I highly recommend putting on your "Boogie Shoes" and heading over to SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER at Broadway Palm while it's "Stayin' Alive." It's a high-energy production with a beautiful story of love, friendship, and loss, paired with some of the most popular disco music from the 70s. I promise by the end of the show "You Should Be Dancing."

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER is playing at Broadway Palm now through February 9. Performances are Wednesday through Sunday, with select matinees.
