Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre (FMCT) has received a grant in the amount of $5,000 from the Alex Stern Family Foundation to support its new FMCT Apprentice Program.

FMCT Apprentices are young professional theatre artists in residence at the Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre. They strive to grow as theatre professionals daily and bring the highest standard of professionalism to every rehearsal and performance. Apprentices have a variety of responsibilities at the theatre including: working closely with all FMCT Education programs, working on the technical aspects of theatre including lights, sound, construction, and costumes; assisting with development to include fundraisers, and working in the administrative offices of FMCT.

Since its founding in 1946, the Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre has provided a wide range of theatrical experiences and educational opportunities to the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area and surrounding rural communities. FMCT is the longest running community theatre organization in the Red River Valley Region of Minnesota and North Dakota.

The Alex Stern Family Foundation supports the arts, social welfare/human services, education, youth recreation, civic projects, and health issues for the benefit of the greater Fargo-Moorhead area. Since 1977, the Foundation has invested over $15 million in nonprofit organizations in Cass and Clay counties.
