Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre (FMCT) presents THE LARAMIE PROJECT on October 12-13 & 18-20 at 7:30pm and October 14 at 2pm at The Stage at Island Park.

Comprised of interviews conducted following the October 1998 kidnapping and fatal assault of gay University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard, THE LARAMIE PROJECT is a chronicle of the life of the town of Laramie, WY in the year after the brutal crime. This fascinating collection of community reactions explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable.

The opening night of FMCT's production corresponds with the 20th anniversary of the death of Matthew Shepard. In response to the tragic events and themes of the play, FMCT will host informal talk backs following select performances in commemoration of the two decades passed since the brutal crime was committed in 1998. A schedule of talk back events will be announced at a later date.

Guest director, Natalie Novacek, directs this true-life drama and features a cast of 20, many of whom play multiple roles in the show.

Audio description will be available on October 13. Assistive listening devices are available to patrons at the FMCT Box Office for all performances.

Tickets go on sale Monday, September 24. Become an FMCT Member for pre-sale ticket access two weeks before the general public. For all ticketing and membership information, visit fmct.org or call 701.235.6778.
