FMCT Presents DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS 4/20 Through 4/28

Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre (FMCT) presents Dirty Rotten Scoundrels on April 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 at 7:30pm and April 22, 29 at 2pm at The Stage at Island Park.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, based on the popular 1988 film starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine, is a high-energy musical that twists and turns with high jinks and hilarity. Nominated for eleven Tony Awards, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels features a lively jazz score by David Yazbek that punctuates the show's hysterical battle of cons as it unfolds on the French Rivera.

Sophisticated con artist Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money. Petty crook Freddy Benson more humbly swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother's failing health. After a chance meeting on a train, they attempt to work together, only to find that this small French town isn't big enough for the two of them. They agree to a deal: the first one to extract $50,000 from a young heiress, Christine Colgate, wins, and the other must leave town.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels features a company of over 30 artists in its cast, crew, and pit orchestra under the direction of a team of local professionals led by Adam Pankow, making his directorial debut as FMCT's Artistic Director. FMCT's production marks the local premiere of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and serves as the closing show of their 2017-2018 mainstage season.

An audio described performance will be offered on Friday, April 20, with assistive listening devices available to patrons at the FMCT Box Office for all performances.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, April 2. To purchase tickets, or to become a FMCT member with early access to tickets, visit fmct.org or call 701.235.6778.
