BREAKDOWN

These women are true steel magnolias: southern belles who are flowery on the outside, but tough as steel inside.

Annelle:
Must be able to play age 18. very shy hair-dresser. She goes from a very soft-spoken person to wild to a bible-loving Christian; wears her heart on her sleeve. Wistful, goofy sincerity.

Shelby:
Mid-20s. Prettiest girl in town, loves the color pink; strong willed, passionate and loved by all. She has a tricky relationship with her mother, and often rebels just for the sake of rebellion. Won’t let her diabetes beat her.

M’Lynn:
50s. Mother of Shelby. She is over-protective needs to have a firm grasp on the world at all times. Always knows what’s best; strong and stubborn; the heart of the piece.
