Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carré is casting All Roles in its upcoming production of Something Rotten!.

PREPARATION

Sides will be provided at least two weeks in advance of the scheduled appointment, or at the audition location if walking-in.

BREAKDOWN

Nick Bottom- (30s-40s) A struggling writer and head of a theater troupe. Nigel's older brother. He holds a jealous grudge against Shakespeare. Seeking a great comedic actor with who sings and dances very well. Tenor, Baritone. All Ethnicities. All body types.

Nigel Bottom- (30s) Nick's younger brother and partner in writing and running the troupe. Sweet and a little awkward. In love with Portia. Seeking a great comedic actor who sings very well. Tenor. All Ethnicities. All body types.

Lord Clapham/ Master of the Justice- (45+) Patron of the theatre. Flamboyant and extremely posh. Seeking a great comedic actor who sings well. All Ethnicities. All body types.

Minstrel- (20s-40s) Welcomes the audience and sets the scene for each act. Charismatic and highly energetic. Seeking a great comedic actor who sings and dances very well. Tenor. All Ethnicities. All body types.

William Shakespeare- (30s-40s) Over-the-top and cocky. A true rock star of his time. Seeking a great comedic actor who sings and dances very well. Tenor. All Ethnicities. All body types.

Thomas Nostradamus- (40s-60s) A soothsayer. Predicts that Nick and Nigel will write a musical. Seeking a great comedic actor who sings and dances very well. Tenor, Baritone. All Ethnicities. All body types.

Brother Jerimiah- (40s-50s) A Puritan; the father of Portia; he despises Nick and Nigel. Seeking a great comedic actor who sings very well. Tenor, Baritone. All Ethnicities. All body types.

Shylock- (45+) Nick and Nigel are in debt to him, and he becomes an investor in their musical. Seeking a great comedic actor who sings well. Baritone. All Ethnicities. All body types.

Bea- (30s-40s) Nigel's wife. Loves Nigel despite his past lack of success. Dresses up like a man to prove she can be an actor. Seeking a great comedic actress who sings very well. All Ethnicities. All body types.

Portia- (20s-30s) A beautiful puritan that Nick meets on the street. Has golden hair and loves poetry. Seeking a great comedic actress who sings very well. All Ethnicities. All body types.

Ensemble- (20s-60s) Strong singer/dancers who can tap very well. Must be comedic and inventive. Will portray various character parts throughout the show. All Ethnicities. All body types.
