Prepare a short version of a song that is appropriate to the style of the show (you may sing from the show).

You MUST bring a picture and resume, and MUST have sheet music in the key in which you will be singing. An accompanist will be provided.

BREAKDOWN

Venue: A new 250-seat cabaret style venue on Hollywood Blvd.

Performance Schedule: 6 shows per week

About the show: This is the famous show that actually started in Hollywood, and has been on Broadway, in Las Vegas, London, Toronto, Melbourne, Manila and more – and is now coming full circle back to Hollywood. This will be an on-going show in a new cabaret-style venue on Hollywood Blvd. that will serve food and drink

SEEKING:

Drew – Male, 20s. A young, handsome rocker. He has great comedic timing and a strong rock tenor. Drew desperately wants to be a rocker, but works as a bar back at the famous Rock of Ages club on the Sunset Strip until his dreams, however unrealistic, come true. (PRINCIPAL)

Sherrie – Female, 20s. A young, pretty girl who has left her Midwestern family to pursue stardom in Los Angeles. She is innocent, naïve with great comedic timing. She has a strong rock vocal, and is a terrific mover. (PRINCIPAL)

Lonny - Male, 30s – 40s. Very strong comedic timing and a commanding but comically strong rock vocal. Our narrator, he possibly has a slightly unflattering appearance but doesn’t see it. (PRINCIPAL)

Dennis – Male, 40s. Possibly heavyset (not crucial). Strong comedic timing. Any ethnicity. He runs the famous Rock of Ages club on the Sunset Strip. He is caught between a rock and a hard place when German businessmen pressure him to sell his club. (PRINCIPAL)

Stacee Jaxx/Father - Male, 30s – 40s. Sexy. A Rock Star. He is at the top of his game and just left his very successful metal rock band to venture out on his own. He has very strong comedic timing and a strong rock voice. Arrogant and charming, his life is a merry-go-round of good old sex, drugs and rock-n-roll. This actor will also play Sherrie’s father. (PRINCIPAL)

Justice Charlier/Mother – Female, 40 – 50, African-American. A commanding woman who runs the strip club where Sherrie ends up when the going gets rough. She is sultry, maternal and a sexy madam with strong vocals and belt. This actress will also play Sherrie’s mother. (PRINCIPAL)

Hertz Klinemann - Male, 40 – 60. He is an uptight, German businessman (must have good German accent) who is looking to take over Sunset Strip. He is our villain and needs to have a commanding presence with strong comedic timing and vocals. (PRINCIPAL)

Franz Klinemann - Male, 20 – 30. He is a foppish German who is pressured by his father to work for his business. (Must have good German accent.) He is small, and shy. Good vocals and strong comedic timing. (PRINCIPAL)

Regina - Female, 20 – 40. She is a granola girl, who has strong comedic timing. She is a hilarious, tree-hugging fighter who will stop at nothing to protect the Sunset Strip. Strong singer. (PRINCIPAL)

Male Ensemble – 20s – 30s, all ethnicities. Strong singers who move very well.

Female Ensemble – 20s – 30s, all ethnicities. Strong singers who move very well.
