BREAKDOWN
CAST:
RACHEL - female, 21, Latin. A recovering addict.
JOAN - female, late 40s, Latin. Her mother.
SEEKING:
PETER- male, late 40s to late 50s, Caucasian. Peter is Rachel’s father. He is currently going through a rough patch in his career, which is starkly contrasted by his enormously successful wife. He is incredibly devoted to his daughter, often at the expense of the other members of his family.
BRODY - male, 18+ to play 19 years old, Latin. Brody is Rachel’s brother. He is a popular, charismatic, lovable kid who has struggled with growing up in his perfect sister’s shadow. He feels abandoned and hurt by her, which he masks with a bravado that is hard to crack.
BRENDA - female, 40-55, African-American. Brenda is Rachel’s therapist at Renley. She is very skilled at what she does, but the rate of recovery from this illness is incredibly low. Rachel is enormously important to her, and she will do whatever she can to help her. Even if that contrasts with what Rachel thinks she wants for herself.
