[LAUREY] Female, 18 to 30, African American / Latina / Asian American / Middle Eastern American / Native American. Emotionally available. Confused about who she is but knows she wants more. Must be comfortable with American vernacular vocal styles (folk, gospel, country, jazz).

[AUNT ELLER] Female, 40 to 65, any ethnicity. Salt of the earth. Strong, clear and brutally honest. Mezzo.

[ADO ANNIE] Female, over 18 to play between 14 and 25, any ethnicity. Sincere. Guileless. Has a great sense of humor. Hungry for life. Must be comfortable with American Folk and Country vocal styles encouraged.

[GERTIE CUMMINGS] Female, 18 to 30, any ethnicity. Driven, competitive, slightly conniving but always seemingly positive. She kills with kindness. Moves well. Soprano or Mezzo.

[LEAD DANCER] Female, 18 to 30, African American. An extremely skilled and thrilling dancer to perform the extended solo Dream Ballet at the top of Act 2.
