BREAKDOWN
Daniel #1
must sing and play acoustic guitar; will play guitar on stage. Daniel #1 is in college, and starting his songwriting and singing career. Daniel #1 provides lots of short responses, yep...nope and is not at ease public speaking, and very at ease public singing. He writes heartfelt music. He and Greg #1 have an instant attraction. They are in a Young and new love stage. Vocal range is baritone/tenor. Guitar will be strummed, rhythm and finger picked. This is not a lead guitar/electric. Music style is folk/country/ballad. Songs will be memorized for the guitar as sheet music will not be on stage. This is a active, playing, singing role
Daniel #2
must sing and play acoustic guitar; his relationship with Greg #2 has settled. His dreams of being a Singer/songwriter has faded. He drinks too much and is not very communicative. He expresses much more in song/lyrics then he ever does in spoken words. There is tension in this role as he and Greg #2 have differences of how their lives are ending up. Vocal range is baritone/tenor. Guitar will be strummed, rhythm and finger picked. This is not a lead guitar/electric. Music style is folk/country/ballad. Songs will be memorized for the guitar as sheet music will not be on stage. This is a active, playing, singing role.
Greg #2
has been in a relationship with Daniel for 10+ years. Life is more realistic, some of the young love feeling is gone as Greg and Daniel work through their issues. Greg #2 is vocal whereas Daniel #2 is less communicative. In the play he says to Daniel #2, It would just be really nice if we got somewhere on time once in a while. I just feel like I’m always 20 minutes behind. We’ve talked about this endlessly. It really stresses me out when I’m late but you don’t seem to care. Do you understand that it stresses me out?.
