SEEKING

Classic Stage Company is seeking Equity actors for four roles. See Breakdown. Equity actors of all ethnicities, gender identities, ages, and abilities are encouraged to attend. Actors of African descent are strongly encouraged to attend.

Classical or contemporary monologue that is no longer than 2 minutes. Bring picture and resume.

BREAKDOWN

This play is a South African adaptation of August Strindberg's MISS JULIE.
This production will be performed in repertory with THE DANCE OF DEATH, by August Strindberg, directed by Victoria Clark.


MIES JULIE: Afrikaans (White/Caucasian of Dutch or German descent), daughter of a farmer, early 20s

JOHN: Xhosa man (Black of Southern African descent), a servant on the farm, late 20s

CHRISTINE: Xhosa woman (Black of Southern African descent), mother to John, a domestic worker on the farm who raised Julie, mid-60s

UKHOKHO: Xhosa woman (Black of Southern African descent), other-wordly ancestor of indeterminate age
