BREAKDOWN
This play is a South African adaptation of August Strindberg's MISS JULIE.
This production will be performed in repertory with THE DANCE OF DEATH, by August Strindberg, directed by Victoria Clark.
MIES JULIE: Afrikaans (White/Caucasian of Dutch or German descent), daughter of a farmer, early 20s
JOHN: Xhosa man (Black of Southern African descent), a servant on the farm, late 20s
CHRISTINE: Xhosa woman (Black of Southern African descent), mother to John, a domestic worker on the farm who raised Julie, mid-60s
UKHOKHO: Xhosa woman (Black of Southern African descent), other-wordly ancestor of indeterminate age
