BREAKDOWN

PIANIST
Male, mid to late 20’s. Very skilled piano player. Trevor’s accompanist and stand-in for Arthur Brightman, who was a songwriter from Long Island in the 1960's. Strong actor and jazz piano player--he plays all or part of 11 American Songbook style songs from memory. The Pianist sings but, because Arthur was a writer, strong vocals are of lesser importance than the Pianist’s piano playing skills.

OLDER TREVOR
Male, Caucasian, 45-60. Trevor, the show's narrator, as he was when he died. Older Trevor only enters for the final scene of the musical, where he delivers a monologue and performs a short reprise of a song. His singing voice should be faded but still thinly beautiful. Also doubles as SISTER ETCETERA, who runs the back cabaret room at The Never Get. A full time cross-dresser, she's the first one to book Arthur's and Trevor's act and is a warm presence throughout the show though she does not have speaking lines. She may have some semi-improvised interactions with the audience in the bar before the show begins.

TREVOR
[Role CAST] - Male, mid to late 20’s. A dapper and talented cabaret performer. Controlled and charming in all the right ways. Baritenor, not pop. Bb2 - B4 with strong falsetto in that higher range.
