Please contact Elena Morris, Artistic Associate at elenamorris@newrep.org, or (617) 923-7060 for an appointment. Please indicate an hour between 4-8 that you would prefer to be scheduled in. Non-equity performers will be seen as time allows. All appointments are scheduled in five-minute intervals, with each performer having three minutes to perform.

Please prepare a brief song in the style of HAIR or pop-rock.

BREAKDOWN

A Note
We are seeking extremely versatile, dynamic, and playful performers who will come together to create the tribe. All must sing and move extremely well. Playing instruments is a plus and we encourage you to play at your initial audition if you can. Partial nudity may be asked of all actors. However, it will NOT be required and the amount of nudity for each individual involved will be fully discussed and agreed upon between director and actor.
Actors of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, and abilities are strongly encouraged to audition.

Berger
White male, 20-29
Rock baritone/tenor
A free-spirited, unrestrained activist recently expelled from school. He leads the tribe with his lively, captivating presence and unwavering conviction to his beliefs.

Claude
Male of any ethnicity, 20-29
Rock tenor
A charismatic tribe leader and Berger’s best friend. Drafted to the Vietnam War, he struggles to choose between his commitment to the tribe’s beliefs and his perceived sense of duty.

Sheila
Female of any ethnicity, 19-25
Mezzo with high belt

HEADGONNAROLE
An NYU student who lives with Berger and Claude. Passionate about political activism, peaceful protest, and spreading love.

Folky tenor
A peaceful, gentle soul.

A smart, opinionated, energetic member of the tribe.

Jeanie
Female of any ethnicity, 20-29
Mezzo
A nonjudgemental, eccentric member of the tribe who is also pregnant.

A vivacious and strong member of the tribe, a loyal friend.

The youngest member of the tribe, grieving a lost love.
