BREAKDOWN

GEORGIA MERTCHING IS DEAD is a sharp, dark comedy. Gretchen, Emma and Whitney are thirty. They've been friends since they were teenagers. They've been sober since they were teenagers. As they set off on a road trip south--with homemade female urination devices, too much pie, ill-advised sexual escapades--to celebrate and mourn a figure from their past, the play reveals what it's like to face adulthood and death after growing up weird and possibly broken.

EMMA
30. She's surly. She's funny. Her face really just looks that way. There's something really appealing about her that you can't quite put your finger on.

GRETCHEN
33, 9 Months Pregnant. So loud. High energy. The darker things get the funnier she gets. She's dirty as hell with her friends and is also a really good mom.

WHITNEY
30. She's super weird. Ambitious. Head in the clouds but works to keep the people she loves together. She's queer. Like an ambitious queer bird. She is an optimist.

HARLAN
Mid 30's. Self congratulatory. Sort of electric/sort of broken. Has incredible sex appeal. The majority of the things that come out of his mouth sound patronizing. He's lived in LA too long. He means well...maybe.

JEREMY
30's. He's a sweet pea. He's funny. He's kind of a weirdo. He is a great example of benevolent masculinity without being a pushover.
