BREAKDOWN

[JAVIER]
Javier is a Colombian immigrant in his early thirties. Once a journalist in Colombia, he now works for Rolling Fields Natural Food market after being forced to leave his home country. He exudes quiet confidence and strength, and can shift from serious to coolly ironic. Underneath his controlled exterior lies passion and conviction.
High baritone/baritenor (A2-A4, Sweet/Lyrical)

[BRITNEY]
Britney is an entrepreneur in her early thirties. She is hard-charging, competitive and tough, and uses her physical presence to her advantage, she can intimidating and charming as is necessary. She is street smart and, sometimes, ruthless. For her, the ends justify the means.
Mezzo belter (A3-B4)

[TYLER]
Tyler is an ambitious investment banker in his late twenties. He is conspicuously self-confident, a narcissist and a braggart. With all-American good looks and money to burn, he believes himself to be irresistible to women. He wears his entitlement with pride.
Light tenor G3-G4 (Think 50s rock/Grease).

[BILL]
Bill is the sixty-something founder of a national chain of health food stores. He emanates sixties idealism and new-age spirituality. He is fundamentally decent but his attempts to repress his high self-regard inevitably morph into buffoonery.
Tenor G3-G4 (Think 50s rock/Grease).

[CARLITA]
Carlita is a thirty-something Dominican lesbian from the Bronx. She is opinionated, smart and direct. She is fiercely loyal and loving to her friends, but an implacable foe to evil-doers. She is a keen judge of character and will unflinchingly speak truth to power.
