BREAKDOWN
BRITNEY:
Age 30’s-60’s, a Caribbean immigrant working in New York City as a nanny. She is worn down and bitter in contrast with the upper-middle class and wealthy parents she deals with, but she is also strongwilled and determined, a fierce, intimidating presence even—especially—when silent.
KATIE:
Age 30’s-40’s, Asian-American. Smart, liberal, attractive and fit. She’s sophisticated, but blind to her own privilege. She’s a licensed interior decorator, but doesn’t really need to bring in any income— she and her husband are extremely affluent.
JAY:
Age 30’s-50’s, Brooke’s husband, Caucasian, he works in computer tech. Smart, but not as smart as he thinks he is; sees himself as a former nerd (but in truth is still a nerd).
BROOKE:
30’s-40’s, caucasian, she is upper-middle class, somewhat neurotic and insecure, and feels a bit guilty about her privilege.
