Equity male and female actor/singers for 3 principal roles. See breakdown.

PREPARATION

Please be prepared to sing a BRIEF song from musical theatre repertoire. Looking for all voice types. Bring your book of music with you, in case you are asked to sing a second selection. An accompanist will be provided.

Please bring a current picture and resume, stapled together.

On just one special night of the year, all Jellicle cats meet at the Jellicle Ball where Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, makes the Jellicle choice and announces which of them will go up to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life.

GRIZABELLA
(Female) Grizabella is a survivor, but she is vulnerable, and now outcast from the tribe. She was once very glamorous, but with age her beauty is fading. Sings 'Memory'. An exceptional singer/ actress with sensational, powerful vocals needed. Must possess a wide vocal range with rich lower register and dramatic high belt to E flat. age 35 - 55

OLD DEUTERONOMY
(Male)?Old Deuteronomy is the beloved leader of the tribe. Seeking a mature actor with a rich legit bariton to G sharp in addition to a secure lower register. Must be able to express authority, dignity, wisdom, and humility - also great warmth and fun. Small amount of movement required. age 35 – 55

GUS/BUSTOPHER JONES
(
Male)?Bustopher Jones is a sophisticated and upper class cat, respected by all. Gus is the theatre cat - a fragile old cat who recounts his glory days playing the role of the Rumpus Cat. A fantastic character/actor singer with excellent comedic skills to play these two distinct roles. Tenor with good lower register. Good movement skills needed. age 40-50
