BREAKDOWN
MALE UNDERSTUDY:
Any ethnicity, covers PALE (Adam Driver) 30s-39
Is handsome yet has a ruggedness to him; is a substance abuser that struggles to control the roller coaster of anger, sadness, and grief caused by the accidental passing of his brother Robbie; he is profane dangerous, and opinionated, but also surprisingly sensitive and compassionate.
MALE UNDERSTUDY:
Any ethnicity, covers BURTON (David Furr) and LARRY (Brandon Uranowitz). Mid-30s.
Burton: Tall and handsome, invested movie writer who is Anna’s longtime lover. Afraid of not maintaining success by writing authentic material, he lets his career take precedence over his relationship with Anna.
Larry: “Medium everything.” Very bright and very gay man working in advertising. He is quick witted and quite dramatic. Roommate to Anna and the late Robbie.
FEMALE UNDERSTUDY:
Any ethnicity, covers ANNA (Keri Russell), Mid-30s.
Very attractive, dancer who is starting to choreograph. Uses dance to work through her emotional baggage. She starts the play grief stricken by the death of her gay roommate, Robbie, and ends up rediscovering a new a sense of independence and creativity through her budding relationship with Pale.
