The University Musical Society (UMS) announces that Ryan Davis has joined the UMS staff as its new Chief Development Officer.

Ryan comes to UMS from Miami, where she served as the Senior Director of Development for the Miami Dolphins Foundation. Prior to her time in Miami, Ms. Davis held several development roles within the University of Michigan from 2010-17. Most recently, she led fundraising efforts for the School of Kinesiology, and before that served in senior roles at Michigan Medicine, the Rogel Cancer Center, and the Samuel and Jean Frankel Cardiovascular Center.

As Chief Development Officer, Davis will oversee the full scope of UMS's development initiatives, including annual, major, planned, and endowment giving; foundation and corporate support; and Board and donor engagement. Working closely with fellow members of the UMS senior management team, she will help to shape UMS's vision, strategy, and commitment to the University of Michigan and Southeast Michigan into a clear and compelling fundraising strategy.

"We are delighted to welcome Ryan to the UMS leadership team," said UMS President Matthew VanBesien. "With a history of extraordinary work in development and vast experience in leadership roles, she brings tremendous knowledge, energy, charisma, and a broad range of community relationships here in Ann Arbor, at the University of Michigan, and across the country. I know that Ryan will continue to build upon the strong foundation that supports UMS's legacy as a leading artistic engine in our region."

Ms. Davis noted, "Having grown up in Ann Arbor, I'm thrilled to return to my hometown and contribute to an organization with such a rich history and deep connection to a community that I love. It will also be so personally meaningful to introduce my children to UMS as part of a next generation who will appreciate the gift of performing arts."
