Broadway actors James Hindman and Tom Souhrada, are returning to Riverbank Theatre's Snug Stage to perform Popcorn Falls and all proceeds will benefit Riverbank Stage Festival and Performing Arts Academy, a new initiative to bring a summer long performing arts festival to the shores of the St. Clair River. The show's Director and two-time Tony Award winner, Christian Borle is at our very own Snug Theatre helping the acting team fine tune the production for its New York debut. Borle, known for his portrayal of Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher, Shakespeare in Something Rotten!, and most recently Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, also had a starring role in the NBC hit Smash. James, also the playwright of the production, is a native of Michigan and is excited to have an opportunity to bring the work he loves back to his home state.

James' Broadway and touring acting credits include such hits as Cats, City of Angels, and most recently Mary Poppins. Fellow Broadway actor Tom Souhrada, who recently completed the national tour of Kinky Boots, will join James as the two actors portray over 15 characters in this fast-paced comedy farce that celebrates small town can-do spirit. Welcome to Popcorn Falls, a small American town, whose only claim to fame - their namesake waterfall - has dried up. Now bankrupt, their last chance is a large grant that can only be used if the town produces a play in a week. Led by the Mayor and the local handyman, the enterprising townsfolk try to rise to the challenge and prove that art can save the world.

Carve out some time this Memorial Day Weekend to see top notch Broadway entertainment and support the effort to bring even more professional arts to the region. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 3:00 p.m. and include a post show Q & A with the stars. Tickets at $28.00 are available online at www.riverbanktheatre.com or by phone at 810-278-1749.
