Curate Concert Series Welcomes CALLAGHAN to Des Moines

On August 31, acclaimed singer songwriter Callaghan released her new self-titled album 'Callaghan'. The release follows a hugely successful summer of touring which included playing at British Summer Time in Hyde Park, London, on the same bill as Paul Simon & James Taylor, and at the Telluride Americana Music Festival here in the US.

Originally from the UK, Callaghan moved to the USA in 2010 to record and tour with Grammy-Nominee Shawn Mullins. A long-time fan, she'd contacted the Atlanta singer-songwriter online and, after being knocked out by her music, he agreed to produce her debut album, Life in Full Colour. The Huffington Post called the album "joyful listening" and Mullins described Callaghan as "a voice the whole world needs to hear".

After the release of her last studio album, 'A History of Now' and touring extensively both here and in the UK, Callaghan's been developing her sound in California working with producers like Anthony Resta (Elton John, Duran Duran and Blondie) as well as Starr Parodi and Jeff Fair (Harry Potter, Mission Impossible and James Bond.) "Working in LA has allowed me to bring elements of modern pop and cinematic sound into my music," says Callaghan.

Moving further towards pop than ever before, whilst maintaining the honest emotion which has already won her an army of fans, 'Callaghan' is the culmination of Callaghan's three EP project - recorded in LA over the last year in sections - releasing a collection of 4 favourite songs every few months.

This bold, new album which combines an array of styles offers everything from acoustic ballads to full band arrangements including brass sections, a 30 piece orchestra, and a gospel choir for the first time.You'll discover songs of love, grief, hope, youthful exhuberance and more - all of which are powered by her stunning vocals and thoughtful song writing. Callaghan will be touring throughout the US in October before heading to the UK for a November Tour.
