Firehouse Theater Company Presents ROCK OF AGING REVIVAL!

Back by popular demand, Firehouse Theater Company is thrilled to bring Rock of Aging REVIVAL! to the John Hand Theater. Performances will be February 16 through March 16 with shows Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 PM plus Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for Students, Seniors and Military, or $20 for groups of 10 or more. All performances will be at The John Hand Theater at 7653 E. 1st Place on the Colorado Free University Campus.

About the show: Local playwright Deborah Montgomery was inspired by her love of the rock music of the 60s and 70s when she wrote this hilarious musical journey through the adventures of becoming "a certain age." And now, back by popular demand, "The Rolling Emotions" take the stage for The Rock of Aging REVIVAL! A hit band in the 60's and 70's, Ricki D. Bones, Willie Withers, and Tina Tumor are struggling to "keep on keepin' on." Poor financial management and the rigors of aging have forced them to sing for their supper by taking any gigs they can, like recording jingles for commercials for seniors' products. Now, along with their new back-up singers, the band has a chance for a big comeback, as part of the AARP National "Feeling Groovy" Tour. The group finds new life as they give the songs of their youth fresh meaning-singing about the maladies of getting older, such as weight gain, memory loss, and gastric distress (think about having that first colonoscopy performed to the chorus, "Snake it Up Doctor, if you twist I'll shout!") Join in with the band as they admit that while aging "ain't for sissies," it's much easier to face with the help of their beloved rock and roll.

"We created a remarkable, light-hearted production when we opened Rock of Aging in 2017 and now I can't wait to revive and transform it with an expanded version of songs and a wonderful new ensemble. Let's celebrate that old time rock and roll," offers Director Lorraine Scott.

Rock of Aging features the talents of: Deborah Montgomery as Rickie, Ghandia Johnson as Tina, Jay Louden as Willy, Trinity Thomas as Taylor, Jessica Hall as Perry, Tim Zollner as Jonas and Clint Heyn as The Narrator.
