Leading Men Rotate Roles in The Firehouse Theatre's OF MICE AND MEN John Steinbeck's American literature classic, Of Mice and Men has been brought to life in a dramatic stage play opening soon at The Firehouse Theatre. Set in California during the Great Depression, the story follows two migrant workers George, a sharp but uneducated, short-tempered man, and Lennie, a large but simple-minded man. Together they hope to one day acquire their own piece of land. But when Lennie stirs up trouble on the job, George must choose between protecting his friend or staying the course towards his version of the American dream.

In this unique production, actors Sterling Gafford and Sean Massey have taken on the ultimate challenge of rotating these two leading roles. With each performance they alternate their characters of George and Lenny, magnifying the dependency these two characters have with one another and creating a truly unique theatrical spectacle. With an ensemble of ten actors and incorporated folk music from the era, this production will remind you why this story has been told for decades.

Sterling Gafford and Sean Massey rotate the roles of George and Lennie with Sonny Franks as Candy and Katie Moyes Williams as Curley's Wife. The ensemble includes Sam Swenson, Matt Lancaster, Neil Rogers, Nik Blocker, Walt Threlkeld and Matthew Eitzen. The production is directed by Tyler Jeffrey Adams, who has directed both To Kill a Mockingbird and Peter and the Starcatcher at The Firehouse Theatre in the past. Performances of Of Mice and Men begin Thursday, October 24 at The Firehouse Theatre and run through November 11.
