Feature: Shows to take your loved one to this Valentine's Day in Cincinnati

August Wilson's "Fences"
In 1950s Pittsburgh, one-time star of the Negro baseball leagues, Troy Maxson now works as a sanitation worker. Steeped in bitterness and resentment of his own failed career, Troy refuses to let his son live his dream of being a football player. Could this bitterness cause a schism between him and all those he loves? You'll have to head over to The Otto M. Budig Theater-where "Fences" plays through Feb. 17-to find out.

"In the Heights"
Get transported to Washington Heights amidst a terrific heatwave during the 4th of July, as a tight-knit Latina community goes through some serious trials, triumphs and tribulations; ultimately growing closer because of it. The musical is enhanced with Hamilton creator, Lin Manuel Miranda's signature hip-hop style with a heavy latin infused score. "In the Heights" won four Tony Awards during its run on Broadway, including "Best Musical" and "Best Score." It's a perfect way to prepare for Hamilton if you were lucky enough to snag a ticket, and if not, then you still have a way to see a gorgeous Lin Manuel Miranda show.

"The Last Wide Open"
Do you believe in fate? Well, when Lina, a young waitress, and Roberto, an Italian immigrant are stuck in the restaurant during the closing time because of a ferocious thunderstorm, fate may be at play. After working together for years, but rarely talking, they suddenly have lots of time to connect and "test the waters of happiness and intimacy," according to Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's website.

"Ripcord"
What's better than watching two senior women, who are roommates at the Bristol Senior Living Facility compete in a prank war? When cheerful, good-tempered Marilyn gets placed in the crotchety Abby's room at the retirement home, all Abby can think about is regaining the room for herself. A bet turns into a valuable life lesson for both women as they discover "what is truly worth fighting for," as seen on ETC's website.
