According to ancient books, "Cloud Gate" is the oldest dance in China, and it is said that it existed in the Yellow Emperor era. In 1973, Lin Huaimin founded the "Cloud Gate Dance Collection" under the name "Cloud Gate". This is the first professional dance group in Taiwan and the first contemporary dance group in all Chinese-speaking communities. The Yunmen dance code is rich and sophisticated, and many dances have been popularized and repeatedly played, which has become the common memory of two or three generations of Taiwanese society. Cloud Gate dancers are mostly graduates of the dance department. The basic training of the dance troupe includes sit-in, qigong, inner boxing, modern dance, and ballet. The body tempered by the East and West dance techniques, through the ingenious presentation of Lin Huaimin, created the world-renowned Yunmen action style. Cloud Gate's long-term overseas tour is a frequent visitor to international important art festivals. With unique creativity and exquisite dance skills, it has won warm appreciation from audiences and dancers from all over the world. It is known as the "world-class Modern Dance Group". In addition to the official theater performance, Cloud Gate has been conducting large-scale outdoor performances in different cities in Taiwan since 1996. In 1998, the Yunmen Foundation authorized the Yunmen Dance Classroom to develop the "Life Rhythm" lesson plan, with heuristic teaching, encouraging students to know their bodies from the dance and create their own life rhythm. In 1999, Lin Huaimin established Yunmen 2 to cultivate young and excellent choreographers and dancers, to perform in urban and rural campuses and community performances in Taiwan, to teach and deepen the local art environment. Since 2011, Yunmen 2 has launched overseas performances and received warm acclaim. In 2008, Yunmen was in an accidental fire at the rehearsal field in Bali. The Yunmen Foundation obtained the right to use the former site of the freshwater radio station for 40 years through the "promotion of the law". More than 4,000 private donations at home and abroad helped Yunmen build a sustainable base with theaters, rehearsal fields, offices and technical work spaces. In 2015, the "Cloud Gate Theater" opened its operations. In addition to the use of the Yunmen two groups, it also invited other teams to station in rehearsals and performances. At the same time, it opened up an open public space for the public to visit and carry out the Yunmen Dance Shushi Zhiye. a new chapter.
