HCT Offers Spooky Double Feature: THE LOVE TALKER And A GHOST STORY

Eerie specters, magic, and strange visions arrive at Hendersonville Community Theatre from October 26 to November 4. The Halloween double feature, The Love Talker and A Ghost Story, haunt the theatre intimate Second Stage. Tickets are $16 and are available online at HendersonvilleTheatre.org or by calling the Box Office at (828) 692-1082.

The Love Talker, Deborah Pryor's tale of witchery in the mountains of Virginia, is abundant with apparitions and an eerie and sensual atmosphere. Two women, 14-year-old Gowdie and her mother Bun, live together in a remote cabin in the woods where they wage a private war against oppressive forest forces: an impish, red-headed witch and the lustful demon, The Love Talker.

HCT Artistic Director Jim Walker directs the production. The cast features Jan Robbins as Bun and Claire Estes as Gowdie. Jayna Gerber plays The Redhead, and Christopher Hewitt plays The Love Talker.

In John Pielmeier's A Ghost Story, two hikers, Oswald and Hackett, seek shelter from a winter blizzard in an isolated Maine cabin. They are joined by a mysterious girl, Soma. To pass the time, the three tell each other ghost stories that suddenly becomes real in the blood-curdling climax.

HCT stalwart Zachary Eden directs, and the cast features Gary McClain as Oswald, Zachary Eden as Hackett and Claire Estes as Soma.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. The show is rated PG-13 for strong language and sexual content.
