Erma Bombeck captured the frustrations of her generation by asking, "If life is a bowl of cherries, what am I doing in the pits?" Discover the story behind America's favorite housewife who championed women's lives with a wit that sprang from the most unexpected place of all - the truth.

Jennie Eisenhower (Director) is making her Bristol Riverside Theatre directorial debut with Erma Bombeck: At Wit's End. Additional directing highlights include 1776 and Chicago at Media Theatre, A Christmas Carol and Flat Stanley at Walnut Street Theatre, and I Might Be Merman for the Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Project. Associate director credits include Fun Home (Arden Theatre) and West Side Story, Side Show, and To Kill A Mockingbird at Media Theatre. Onstage at Bristol Riverside Theatre, Jennie has starred as Jo in Little Women: The Musical, Shelby in Steel Magnolias, and Catherine in The Foreigner. This October, Jennie will associate direct and play the Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd at the Media Theatre.

Licia Watson (Erma Bombeck) is delighted to be making her debut at the Bristol Riverside Theatre. Her regional credits include a variety of maternal figures from the traditional (Marmee in Little Women-the Musical, M'Lynn in Steel Magnolias, Ethel Banks in Barefoot in the Park) to the whimsical (Agnes in I DoI I Do!, Rona Lisa Peretti in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Vivian and Karin in various productions of Church Basement Ladies I-IV) to the dysfunctional (Eleanor of Aquitaine in The Lion in Winter, Lela Rogers in Backwards in High Heels, Kate Keller in All My Sons).

Erma Bombeck: At Wit's End brings together a creative team of BRT veterans including set designer Roman Tatarowicz, costume designer Linda Bee Stockton, lighting designer Karen Spahn, and sound designer Karin Graybash.

BRT's Mainstage season continues with the Broadway-bound musical The Rivals with book and lyrics by two-time Tony nominee Peter Kellogg and music by two-time Richard Rodgers Award-winner Stephen Weiner (October 30 - November 18, 2018), the American classic On Golden Pond by Ernest Thompson (January 27 - February 22, 2019), Neil Simon's The Sunshine Boys (March 12 - March 31, 2019), and The Christians by Obie Award-winning playwright Lucas Hnath (April 30 - May 19, 2019).

Since 1986, BRT has continued to bring critically acclaimed professional theatre to Bucks County. The theatre is the recipient of over 68 Barrymore Award nominations for Excellence in Theatre, given annually by Theatre Philadelphia. Under the direction of Artistic Director Keith Baker, Founding Director Susan D. Atkinson, and Managing Director Kevin Maroney, the theatre serves as a cultural hub for the community. In addition to its Mainstage productions, BRT offers four concerts including the holiday tradition An American Christmas Songbook, the new play development series America Rising, and the summer theater arts camp ArtRageous.
