Sketch Like Caspar Collins At Ft Caspar

Come to Fort Caspar Museum on Saturday, August 25th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm for our monthly program Fremont Family Funday. This month's hands-on, kid-friendly workshop is "Caspar Collins' Artwork: Sketch the Fort."

Before joining the Cavalry himself, young Caspar Collins accompanied his father, Lt. Colonel William O. Collins, to the western frontier. He sketched many of the things he saw and most of the forts and posts he visited, including Platte Bridge Station, the post later re-named in his honor after he died there in an Indian battle. Participants are invited to sketch the fort after being inspired by a short tour of the buildings and a viewing of Caspar's artwork.

This is a drop-in program, so please arrive between 1:00 and 3:00 pm; no reservations are required and all supplies will be provided. This program is open to all ages and is free with paid museum admission. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Fort Caspar Museum's summer hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. Admission prices are $4 for adults; $3 for seniors (62+ years) and youth (ages 13-18 years); FREE for children (12 years and younger) and for Museum members.
