Sidney Bruhl is languishing in his Connecticut home, struggling to overcome a bout of writer's block that has seen his Broadway success turn to near bankruptcy. But the answer may have just arrived when Sidney receives a fantastic script written by his former student, Clifford Anderson. Anderson just wants his old mentor's opinion, but Sidney will do whatever it takes to get back on Broadway. The DEATHTRAP has been set...but who will come out on top in this spine-chilling thriller?

"Deathtrap is considered by many to be one of the best stage thrillers ever written," says Vertigo Theatre Artistic Director Craig Hall. "Since its Broadway premiere in 1978 (it still holds the record for longest running comedic-thriller in Broadway history), the play has been a regular in regional and community theatres all over the world. While its five-character, two-act, single-set structure makes it infinitely producible, it is Ira Levin's ingenious meta-theatrical plot that has allowed this play to endure longer than most of the other thrillers from that era. It sits alongside such classic plays as Dial M For Murder, The Mousetrap, Gaslight and Wait Until Dark."

DEATHTRAP stars former Vertigo Theatre Artistic Director Mark Bellamy as Sidney Bruhl, Barbara Gates Wilson as Myra Bruhl, Tyrell Crews as Clifford Anderson, Karen Johnson-Diamond as Helga Ten Dorp, and Kevin Corey as Porter Milgrim.

DEATHTRAP is directed by Jamie Dunsdon, Set & Lighting Designer David Fraser, Costume Designer Hanne Loosen, Composer/Sound Designer Andrew Blizzard, Fight Director Karl Sine, Stage Manager Patti Neice, Assistant Stage Manager Catherine Rouleau, Apprentice Stage Manager Chandler Ontkean.

DEATHTRAP at Vertigo Theatre, previews January 26-30 with the official opening January 31, playing until February 24. Performances run Tuesday - Saturday at 7:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm.
