More Classic Broadway Comes to LA's Rockwell This Week

By popular demand, Fraser Entertainment Group's ongoing concert series An Evening of Classic Broadway will have a second performance this month at Los Angeles nightclub Rockwell Table and Stage. Jennifer Leigh Warren joins the line-up and Cabaret icon Andrea Marcovicci returns with other recent cast members. An Evening of Classic Broadway is nominated for BWW.com's Los Angeles Regional Award for Best Special Theatre Event. The show tune songfest will take place on Wednesday, December 19th at 8PM.

In addition to Warren (Broadway - BIG RIVER, MARIE CHRISTINE, Off Broadway - LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, LONSESOME TRAVELER; A NIGHT WITH Janis Joplin tour, Alley Theater, North Carolina Theatre, Ivoryton Playhouse, La Mirada Theatre; Regional - I'M STILL GETTING MY ACT TOGETHER, HAVING IT ALL (NAACP Award Nomination), THE EDUCATION OF Randy Newman (South Coast Rep), THE PRINCESS AND THE BLACK-EYED PEA (San Diego Rep) HAIR, KISMET (Reprise); Broadway World Award winner for DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER: SONGS OF DAME Shirley Bassey) and Marcovicci (known as "the Queen of Cabaret" who has sold out Carnegie Hall and appeared at The White House, Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, Café Carlyle, Joe's Pub, Feinstein's 54 Below, San Francisco Pops, Florida Philharmonic and Chicago Symphony among others, and performed a record 25 years at the legendary Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel and played the title role in the Off Broadway revival of COCO), the December 19th cast includes Emma Ashford (SWEET CHARITY directed by Mark Madama - University of Michigan; Associate Director FOR THE RECORD by Geoff Packard, Producer Runyonland Productions, JRay 2016 Winner Best Female Soloist, Hollywood Bowl - "Marta" THE SOUND OF MUSIC), Michael Kostroff (title role in Musical Theatre Guild's ZORBA, tours of LES MISERABLES as "Thénardier" and THE PRODUCERS as "Max Bialystock", Television - HBO's THE WIRE); Ashley Fox Linton (Broadway/National Tours - WICKED and LES MISERABLES, Regional and Off-Broadway - EVITA, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, SUNSET BOULEVARD, BABY, THE LAST FIVE YEARS, SWEENEY TODD, CALL ME MADAM and more); Scotch Ellis Loring (writer-director of FAUX SHOW, web series starring Tiffany Haddish and Kim Coles, singer-songwriter who has recorded two CDs and sings one of his compositions in the film FIREHOUSE DOG, in which he also appears, and began his television career on THE FACTS OF LIFE); Larry Poindexter (founding member of the Troubies who played "Benedick" in MUCH A DOOBIE BROTHERS ABOUT NOTHING and performed in THE COMEDY OF AEROSMITH & FLEETWOOD MACBETH, "Jack"/"Jesus" in REEFER MADNESS, "Shannon" in the LA revival of THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA) and Shannon Warne (Ovation Award winner - "Lead Actress" in Baz Luhrmann's LA BOHEME, Ovation Award nominee - "Lead Actress" in HAVING IT ALL, Regional - "Mother" in RAGTIME (Pasadena Playhouse), performances at The Ahmanson, Reprise!, The Hollywood Bowl, Sacramento Music Circus, McCoy-Rigby Entertainment, Guthrie Theatre, The Ordway and more). Rockwell Table and Stage is located at 1714 N. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles 90027. Valet (behind the restaurant) and street parking available. Seating is fixed. Patrons will be assigned a seat but can adjust when purchasing online. It's an intimate venue with close seating quarters which tries to accommodate as many patrons as possible, so be prepared to make new friends. Please note that it may not be possible to change or combine parties once you've chosen your seats and purchased your tickets. While performances at Rockwell Table and Stage are not restricted to 21+, many shows include mature content, and patrons under the age of 21 are prohibited by law from sitting in certain areas of the venue. Subject to availability, tickets may also be available for purchase at the door.
