Warner Bros. Pushes WONDER WOMAN 1984 Back to 2020

The release of "Wonder Woman 1984" has been pushed back by Warner Bros. from Nov. 1, 2019, to June 5, 2020, according to Variety. Gal Gadot took to Twitter to announce the film's release date - see below!

The film, which is the sequel set in 1984, replaces Mark Wahlberg's "Six Billion Dollar Man," which has been taken off the schedule.

"We had tremendous success releasing the first 'Wonder Woman' film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did. This move lands the film exactly where it belongs," said Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros.' president of domestic distribution.

"Wonder Woman 1984" is the fourth movie featuring Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman. The first film earned $821.8 million worldwide, making the film the highest-grossing movie with a female director.

Patty Jenkins is returning to direct the sequel. Chris Pine will reprise his role and Kristen Wiig joins as the villainous Cheetah. The film will be produced by Gadot and Jenkins along with Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder and Stephen Jones.

"Wonder Woman 1984" is currently the only film dated for June 5, 2020.
