Online Bidding Now Open For 'The Auction At Graceland'

During the Elvis Presley Birthday celebration at Graceland, collectors, fans and pop culture enthusiasts from around the world will raise their paddles to bid in hopes of going home with a piece of Elvis history at "The Auction at Graceland" live auction event at The Guest House at Graceland resort hotel theater and online at GracelandAuctions.com. The auction will feature a vast array of artifacts from both Elvis'theatrical and musical careers as well as personal tokens and gifts.

The Auction at Graceland live auction event will be held Tuesday, January 8 at 12:30 p.m. CST/1:30 p.m. EST in the 464-seat state-of-the-art theater at The Guest House at Graceland. Online bidding is now open at GracelandAuctions.com. Every artifact is authenticated by Graceland Authenticated, LLC.

For the first time, a portion of the auction will benefit the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation (EPCF), a 501(c)3 organization. EPCF was formed by Graceland/Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. in 1984 to continue Elvis' own tradition of generosity and community service, and to honor his memory. All of the EPCF's funds are used for charitable donations - nothing is deducted for staffing or other operating costs. The foundation has assisted numerous charities over the years and has a longstanding relationship with the College of Communications and Fine Arts at the University of Memphis where the Elvis Presley Endowed Scholarship Fund was created. Also, dear to Elvis' heart, the foundation has supported outstanding Memphis-based charitable organizations, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the National Civil Rights Museum. The foundation receives a portion of its overall income from Graceland/Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. A meaningful amount of the EPCF's funding also comes from donations made by Elvis fan clubs and individual Elvis fans and admirers from around the world.

Highlights in the auction include the original sale agreement for Graceland, the red velvet shirt worn by Elvis likely on stage at his famous Tupelo homecoming concert in 1956, an original 1955 concert poster, an Elvis signed check dated January 8th, historic tour documents once belonging to Elvis' sound engineer, Bill Porter, Elvis' sparkling jewelry including a TCB necklace from Dr. Nick, pieces of his personal clothing, stage-used microphones, gold record awards and much more.

A selection of the artifacts are available for viewing at Graceland's new entertainment complex Elvis Presley's Memphis now through January 6, 2019 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST and at The Guest House at Graceland in the Rock Conference Room Monday, January 7, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
